We have all heard the phrase, some of us may have even said it, “kids don’t come with instructions.” I have found this to be especially true when you fall pregnant much earlier in life than anticipated. Or when later down the road you inherit additional children that you have not known since the beginning. No matter what your specific circumstances may be, parenthood is difficult! Probably the most prolonged project you will ever take on over the course of your entire life. No one is ever one hundred percent ready to begin this adventure. None of us can claim that we are proud of how we handle all the situations that arise with our children one hundred percent of the time. I am not saying practice makes perfect, but I have learned that parenting in a constant work in progress. As long as we continually strive to learn to become the best parents we can be, I believe we are doing something right.
My name is Jocelyn and I am a young, 27 year old mom and stepmom. At the young age of 17, I began my journey as a mother. In the last decade I have learned a lot about being a teen mom, parenting and being part of a blended family. In this blog I would like to share some of my own personal experiences as well as lessons I have learned along the way.
